Project: PV Grid connection system installed into a sustainable construction project at Edinburgh University
Technical Specifications: 310 Solar laminates with a total system output of 27kWp. Installed onto the West Wall and West Tower Wall using a Facade Integrated System (FIS) and installed onto the Roof using a Roof Integrated System (RIS).
The University of Edinburgh is a renowned centre for teaching and research. PV systems carried out a feasibility study, followed by the design and installation of a PV system into a newly designed sustainable construction project at the University. The project combined comprehensive intergation of the PV system with the design and architectural concept of the building, as well as offsetting the costs of vertical rainscreen cladding and roof covering element, while still allowing the free draining of rainwater.
